Day 152 - 154 November 19 - 21, 2022

Day 152 Saturday, November 19, 2022

Point South Marina, Bay Point Panama City

Boat pump out right at your slip!!

Check out how wide the docks are!!

Al and Arlene picked up our rental car.  We will be at this marina for several days and all felt it would be more convenient.  It will definitely be cheaper than multiple Ubers to and fro.  Our rental is an "8 passenger" Toyota van. Seven sit comfortably; we added a small step stool in the middle as the 8th "seat".

Plans for Thanksgiving dinner were made with everyone looking forward to turkey and all the fixings. It was a bit of a challenge to get reservations for 10 people but Arlene and Susan were up for the challenge.

 Arlene's Thanksgiving Turkey!

It was a productive visit to Publix for groceries.  Joe had been yearning for pizza so we headed to Enzo's for dinner.  We were surprised to find that we would be eating outside in the cold and rain.  We were under cover but still pretty uncomfortable.  The wings were good but the pizza just okay.  Joe continues his search for the best pizza.  Nothing has matched the pizza of Chicago or the pizza that Joe and Laura made in their own restaurant!

Day 153 Sunday, November 20, 2022

Early 7:30 mass with Arlene at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.  A small, neighborhood church led by a young priest, Father Thomas.  Song Lyrics were projected on the walls of the church.  I wonder if this was adopted due to Covid.  The church was a bit far so we were glad to have a car.

We have missed the Sunday routine of home -- church then family breakfast.  Today we enjoyed breakfast at the golf club with Arlene and Al.  Yummy omelets and toast from homemade bread.  Sunday football on the boat.  Dreary and cold my plan was to make chicken parm to warm us and the boat.  Plans were interrupted by the arrival of our friends Janet and Russ on Tug Bussle.

Eric's Inheritance and Tug Bussle

Once settled, they joined us on our boat.  Too late to build the chicken parmesan I was wondering what we would eat when Laura sent a text "Chinese takeout?"  Everyone was in.  We all placed our orders to Jin Jin King and the men headed off with the car to pick it up.  More points for the rental!  Janet and Russ ate with us on board.  Quite yummy.

Day 154 Monday, November 21, 2022

Today was actually sunny with the low in the 60's.  We took advantage of the rental again and made a road trip to Target and Hobby Lobby with Arlene, Laura and Janet.  Jerry was the designated driver.  He headed to Kohl's while the ladies shopped Christmas decorations.  It is so hard to believe that the holidays are upon us!  Jerry and I hoped that a little decor would help.  We aren't really feeling it.  Maybe once we enjoy the parade and Thanksgiving dinner it will feel more like the holidays.

We took a nice walk with Joe, Laura, Arlene and Susan along the streets of historic St. Andrew.  Susan was on the hunt for ice cream but everything was closed on Monday.  That has been a theme for our trip with businesses often closed Sundays and Mondays.

Street artist - putting on the finishing touches

Birds are carved                                                                                        into the tree trunk.

Back to the boats we recruited Danny and Russ to join us for happy hour.  Al has been suffering through a cold so he and Arlene stayed behind.  Laura, our designated driver, brought us to the Grand Mariner -- recommended by the marina staff.  Upscale restaurant atmosphere but cheap appetizers and drinks.  Lots of fun.  Yes, we do a lot of eating and drinking....

Leftover Chinese food for dinner then invitation aboard Phil-N-Wild.  Music and dancing by Laura, Susan, Janet and Karen from It's About time.

Nice to see your posts! What did you settle on for Christmas decor?
