Today we decided on breakfast out and checked out the
Gateway Bakery Restaurant. The selection
of baked goods was impressive and the breakfast included toast from homemade
bread and homemade raspberry jam. We had
preordered 2 cinnamon rolls the previous day and were glad we did. At 9am they were already running low. They will be consumed for tomorrow’s
breakfast.
Fog on the lake again today delayed our plans to hike to the Rock Point Lighthouse.
We figured we wouldn’t be able to see much until it cleared. When we did head out we were joined by Melinda and Ron from Charlie Girl (named after their granddaughter). It was about 2 miles to the lighthouse through the woods, over, around, up and down the rocks.
Once we got there the
view was pretty cool. Still foggy enough
that we couldn’t see the horizon but the wind was blowing and the lake picking
up some pretty big waves. We met several
other hikers and even some brave enough to swim in the cold water.
We walked the road back to the marina (who knew there was a road??), smoother terrain but much warmer in the sun. Time to chill in the comfy red chairs, chat some more, and enjoy the boats going by.
