Day 48, Sunday August 7, 2022

We extended our stay at Killarney Mountain one additional day due to WEATHER, again.  Lots of rain and winds were predicted so we felt it would be best to sit tight in such a nice spot.

We took advantage of this time to get laundry done.  I know that you are thinking "what excitement", but it really is a big deal when laundry is available, it's clean and even better, it was free!  Our timing was excellent; another boater's wash was just finishing.  Waiting your turn can be the worst part.  The laundry was located by the pool so I relaxed with some sewing and a cup of coffee brought to me by one of the hotel staff.  Pretty nice.

Emerald green clear water

While sitting there we learned about a nightly visitor to the cabins.  A "naughty" bear that tears through the garbage looking for food.  A young bear, it is quite timid and will run away when you clap your hands.  That wouldn't be very comforting to me if we crossed paths.

Back to the boat we enjoyed our cinnamon rolls, coffee and a nice call with Julie and Dad.  It is great to talk to family.  They were sweating with temps in the high 90's while we had the heat on with rain and low 60's.  It did not feel like summer in Killarney.

Can you see the raindrop on the water?

We attended church at Church of St. Bonaventure.  Quaint church that serves Killarney's population of about 400.  There were about 40 people in attendance.

The rain had stopped in time for our walk to and from church so we explored more of the lodge properties.

Dinner on the boat -- Salad, spaghetti and meatballs.  More route planning and bed.

Off to Little Current, Ontario in the morning.
